Bangli
Pura Kehen - Bali's second largest
temple consists of three courtyards connected
by steps and are finely decorated with statues
and carvings.
Denpasar
Pura Jagatnatha - the temple
is dedicated to Bali's Supreme God. Signifying
the foundation of the world are the two mystical
dragons and a turtle in the temple. The temple's
architecture is just awesome resembling to the
Balinese palace. The temple houses a museum featuring
a fine collection of prehistoric and modern art.
Kintamani
The villages of Kintamani and
Penelokan provide great views of the still active
Mount Batur and its fantastic lake. Seven miles
in diameter and sixty feet deep, the caldera of
Batur is simply astounding. From Penelokan, take
the road Kedisan on the shores of the lake where
boats can be rented to cross over to Trunyan.
Tampak Siring
Pura Tirta Empul - built around
a sacred spring, features fine carvings and Garudas
on the courtyard buildings. Regular purification
ceremonies are held as well at this temple.
Goa Gajah
Goa Gajah - a cave temple featuring
two statues with demon heads flank the temple's
entrance, guarding the statue of Ganesha, the
Hindu Lord with the Elephant head sits within
the cave.
